Having a pair of four or six point crampons would do the trick up Lynn if snow and ice becomes an issue, not that you "really" need them but will be able to do that trail in snow or icy conditions...

We used to moto cross in the Waiparous area and see folks camping all over, mostley off road crews, 4 wheelers and moto cross, man that clay was tricky when wet. :)
