Ticks in spring are most troublesome at lower elevations, in the trench and surrounding valleys. Just be mindful of grassy areas or open canopy pine/spruce forests with shrub+grass understory....

Many good aspects to that town. Sunny. Outstanding Rocky, Purcell, Selkirk mountain access. Superb hiking, good skiing...
