Marco,
I am not sure that your questions were answered.
If you fly into Calgary, there are outfitters and sports stores that can sell you what you need. On established trails, paper maps are fine.
A bear vault is a big round can with a lid the bear cannot open. You do not need to hang it from a tree. Just throw it off in the bushes some distance from your tent, and sleep peacefully. It is very awkward to carry in a backpack.
You can hang food from a tree limb. Imagine a sow (mother bear) standing up tall, with a cub on her shoulders reaching for the bag. Your bag needs to be higher than that. Usually you close the food sac tightly, then tie a rope around it. At the other end of the rope you tie a stone. Then thrown the stone over the high branch, pull the food sac up high, and tie the rope around a tree trunk that is a few feet away. The food should be hung well away from where you sleep.
Bear spray is important.
I hope that helps!
Marjorie
