Default Trip Reports Missing Photos

Classic Trip Reports that built legacy of Club Tread have been butchered.

For instance:

https://forums.clubtread.com/27-brit...end-judge.html

If you scroll down you will see most of photos are now gone. This has been brought to VS attention multiple times but nothing transpired besides "We will do what we can" and then silence.

Can you please tell us if you are or are not able to support integrity of Trip Reports built over the years into Club Tread? Damage done to Judge Howay report above can not be overstated. This is not "let's take a walk by Lake Superior and post a few pics"; this is legendary peak on BC Coast only few people ever were able to get up to and any sort of information is extremely scarce.

i DID probe VSADMIN on this at least a few occassions, waiting to hear back. i will probe again.

However it does look like the links or references I would expect to bring up the pictures, are totally blank like they do not exist or were never put there. My hunch the loss could be permanent.

Not necessarily. Pic Links are still valid URLs. But this TR had unusually large amount of pics, and some relocation on server might have happened without source doc (TR) being updated.

But that is besides the point. Point is, not only that we are getting zero support, now site integrity built way before VS took over is butchered and nobody seems even to be willing to respond. Then why not just close the site and end of story.

In the old days I would cut 'n paste the URL of the good trip reports, this was one of them. The old URL for this trip report was:
Code:
https://www.clubtread.com/sforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=39671
So I plugged this into the wayback machine and got something, not full size photos but better than what currently is showing on the forum. Perhaps this can help the development team find the missing photos.

That is excellent Martin. This will provide a great line of reference.

Yes, but for 'great frame of reference' somebody has to care and actually try to do something. We are not even able to get acknowledgement this was read.

It's a lost cause my friends. If I had access to their servers, I'd fix it myself. But I don't

I recently read some articles on how to make effective complaints to companies (here: https://www.elliott.org/answers/how-...sumer-problem/).
I think there are some tactics there that might work, and it is worth a try to save or improve the site.

VerticalScope (VS) mailing address: VerticalScope Inc. Headquarters 111 Peter Street, Suite 901 Toronto, Ontario, Canada M5V 2H1
Chairman, CEO: Rob Laidlaw - trying to get his email now.

Note that VS is majority owned by TorStar (ie the Toronto Star)
President and CEO of TorStar and Publisher of the Toronto Star: John Boynton - [email protected]
Also - a nice editorial piece in The Star complaining about how they've trashed a national treasure could go a long way....

There are thumbnails now, but the remaining larger images that were in this thread before have turned to thumbnails.
Is there any way to get the larger version of these thumbnails from the original conversion from the Snitz forums software ?
Anyway, thanks for looking at it.
