Pictures Rotate
Well its been awhile since I posted last and I have tried uploading pictures from my computer via every method possible but all the ones I have taken vertically ALWAYS show up on CT sideways....no idea why. I have tried everything. No luck. Any suggestions?

I had the same issue as well. I solved this by rotating the vertical (potrait alignment) in my computer prior to uploading, this works fine once you do this first.

copied your pic into my Mac copy buffer then pasted it into an image process app, rotated it 90 degrees right, then saved it, then dragged and dropped into CT

Most pictures these days come straight off our phones. The phone's software embeds some coding into each image when it is taken. This code tells the phone which way is 'up' and displays it correctly for you. Unfortunately, that coding cannot be read by most forum software and so the pictures appear whichever way they were taken with the phone.
There are some tips to get the 'correct' orientation for your photos on your phone.
Android users take photos with the HOME button to the RIGHT.
Apple users take photos with the VOLUME button DOWN.
This is the 'correct' orientation for pictures on your phone. The developers base this off of a DSLR camera that takes photos in landscape mode as a default. So when you take a picture with your phone in portrait view, it's like turning the DSLR camera to the side to take a portrait photo.
You can also open your pictures in an editor on your computer and manually rotate them. If you use an editor on your phone, you may need to crop off a couple of pixels, or save a new name so that a change is registered.
You can also use photo hosts like Photobucket, etc, that have the software needed to read the coding on the images from the phones.

Original photos are taken facing up on the phone. Downloaded to computer and seen facing up/vertical. Upload to forum, whether using drag and drop or uploader and they auto switch to horizontal.

See.first two are taken with camera horiZontal. Downloadex to computer. still horizontal. uploaded to CT still horizontal. Third pic was taken vertical. Downloaded to computer, and appears vertical. uploaded to CT and goes horizontal.

The problem is the conflicting standards for specifying image rotation. Great idea in concept but it seems there are a few different implementations. You rotate it in one software and the other software doesn't see it as rotated because it's looking at a different bit in the .jpg. So for me when posting a TR on CT, I load the .jpg's into an old image editor (Paint shop circa 2000 before all this image rotating automation nonsense started) rotate it, then save it the right way & then upload to CT.
