It took me a minute to turn off my adblock and signout before I was greeted with a huge pop up video for guns. It is clear that the site runs off this money and there is no moral ground on who pays the bills.

Honestly, why do you guys bother? It is clear this is never going to change. It's been how many years already. We can complain all we want, but that's how site will be run until ownership changes. There are 2 options left -- either stop coming here completely as 95% did, or install addblock & use CT as logged user. Continuously posting in this thread and expecting something to change has same chance of success as Leafs have winning Stanley Cup.

^ Don't give up on us now zeljkok! It's important for admin to know how the users feel, even if they don't give a sh*t.

Here's another one, just so CT members can carry the finest machine guns on their hike.

As I am signed on, I do not see any of these ads. I would expect first time visitors to be exposed.

I opened up the site on another screen as a "guest" user, yet did not see any. and am not sure why ?

Perhaps a setup on my browser is through avast security and stops these things ?

Anyone seeing more of these awful adds, do a snippet of those images and post here and the links as Kevin has indicated.

I never see any of those ads. I am always logged on, but I don't use any adblocking software. Maybe it's because I am always logged on?

Hello all,

So for those type of ads, they'll disappear once you're logged in.
They only appear for guests.

Sorry for any inconvenience,

Ed

Well that sucks for guests. They would definitely turn me off from digging deeper into a site if those ads were part of my first impression.

It's probably been said before, but what I don't like is that they are predominately American, and this is a Canadian made, mostly Canadian-content driven website.

They also go against the very rules of the site around hunting etc... "Don't post about hunting, but check out these hunting ads while you're exploring the site." There is an obvious disconnect that reeks of hypocrisy.

And they also go against much of the current political/cultural climate around firearms, especially handguns. They are completely out of touch with what this site is all about.

A message to your advertising partners: Go somewhere else!

Hello Ed:

It is paramount we find a solution to block any kind of these gun ads for anyone new checking this site out, especially guests. We do not want guests who could be future CT users and potentially could enrich this site from being turned away because of these offensive ads. We need some dedication from your programmers to bring a solution quick. otherwise this site will not grow and will wither.

It would be a sorry shame, that growth and development of this site would be thwarted by such unwelcome unsolicited ads. We need these blocked at source.
