Default Is this website mining bitcoins?

Recently I noticed that my browser CPU jumps when I am on this site. It might be mining bitcoins using my CPU. It's not a security threat, and maybe acceptable practice, but we should know about it.

Don't fully understand how the mining of bitcoins occurs (just learned about it recently) but if it's happening, it's not from us. Talked with a tech quickly about this, and they said it could theoretically be possible by someone going through our ad network, but is unlikely and would be hard to prove.

Do you have anything else to go on besides the jumping of the page? What kind of device/browser are you using?

This article explains how it works.

I have nothing concrete. It is just a wild guess based on CPU usage jumping when I am on this site. I use Chrome and this does not happen with other sites.

Thanks for your response.

We don't have any protocol that involves bitcoin. It could be a number of different factors that cause the usage jump. When you're on the site how many pages of CT do you have open?
