I agree CT is mainly for a source of information, and I have gotten lots of great info out of it for some routes such as Sky Pilot, Cypress Peak and Joffre. Going with what other members have stated in this thread the first thing that needs to be fixed is the user functionality, including uploading pics and posting. The other functionality feature that needs to be fixed that I'm not sure has been mention yet is the search function. We should have a better search function and maybe a way of tagging/categorize trips to be able to better locate information. CT will not be able to attract more members without the interface working better. When this is fixed then we could try to attract a new member, using features as previously mentioned.
I too find the current conditions page a but overwhelming. Just a thought, for more popular hikes, such as Needle Peak, Cypress Peak, Mt Brunswick, etc, we have a page dedicated to each of them. With the first post being basically a trail wiki, then as members do these trips they can do a quick reply state when completed and current conditions. This way the posting is easy for members to do because they don't have to do a full on trip report (unless they want to) and we are getting the condition information out.
