Default Advertisements Videos

I haven't been on clubtread much recently but now when I check out the site these ad videos suck cause me to wait 1 to 2 minutes to load. This is unacceptable. I can't read any trip reports without waiting 1 to 2 minutes for each one. Charge $20 for membership. Freakin video ads... really?? talk about selling out. Facebook hiking websites from now on. Don't get me started on the resizing of pics to post on this site. Facebook resizes them for you. Funnel some of this ad money into making this site user friendly.

I totally agree - no matter what device I access this site with, the performance is awful. The ads are a fucking shitshow.

I'm trying to catch up on reading TRs after a vacation and it's like wading through molasses to read, let alone respond.

This is crazy…I had no idea people were experiencing ads on this site. I have been using this site for 3+ years and have never seen a single ad! For what its worth, I am using an older version of safari for some reason. Dont think I would stick around at all if I had to deal with ads to read a TR...

Yep, I run Firefox with adblock plus plugin which is FREE! no problems whatsoever with ads.

You need to be logged in, then the ads on clubtread will disappear, if your getting pop-ups that's something else!

Just installed AdBlock Plus, and the experience is vastly improved. Thanks for the suggestion, Dru.

Hey there,

Premium members do see less ads, they have the option to toggle the right side bar. but the forum does not recognize premium members if you're not logged in.

As log as I am logged in, the experience is good and ad free.

Get a whole clutch of ads when reviewing without signing on.

One less ad, that's all that changes when I log in.

I still see 4. The ad that disappears is the biggest, worst offender but site performance is still poor.
