Default Desicroptors...?

You know our descriptors are hugely important so I hope they are being going to be restored...? It's that familiarity with our past from the early days of CT that, despite any and all changes, reminds us of who we were back when it all started.

Don't take away that important piece of the CT identity.. it matters.

I'm only in favour of bringing them back if we open it back up so that members can start getting them again. It's been a long time since anyone was given one and if we're going to have them, it shouldn't be locked to the specific group of us that were around back then.

PS: What are "Desicroptors"? They sound dangerous.

Desicroptor is a word that refers to changes in forum software that impedes the ability to correct spelling mistakes in the titles of new threads.

Also, regardless if descriptors are opened back up or not, I feel it's important to keep those that have always existed as it represents a legacy for those who participated during the early years and helped establish the social identity of CT.

Even if the plan is to phase descriptors out for good, we will eventually all get old and die off taking our descriptors with us

I'm neither here nor there about the "desicroptors" - this was a feature from the old site, there were not many of them, and they were created by the admins and friends for a small group of people.

If people want to keep them for old time's sake, why not include that desicroptor into one's signature?

Always wondered how one got a descriptor.

Chaos, Panic & Disorder----my work here is done.

Jim would randomly hack the Snitz code whenever he felt inspired. Personally I think the descriptors had their run. Time for something new.

I think they should remain and others should also be able to obtain them.
Back then, descriptors were given to those that participated on the board and mingled socialy with various events and trips and had others pitch in to create these extra signatures, put them back man, some of these are over 10 year old classics.

Hrmph. I'm over a 10 yr old classic and never got one. Not enough personality I suppose! Nothing wrong with having them, but maybe allow everyone to create their own. Shouldn't be a privilege just for those that know the administrators. I'd never make it into the 'cool kids' club

I'd really like them back myself. How does it work around here now, popular vote or does one person get to make the call?

I'd like to see these reinstated as well. I ate a lot of cheese, wrote some funny trip reports, and bares my naked ass in Ling lake to earn that title, so please don't let it all be in vain!

....and yup, calixtomoon defs should get one. Maybe something about island hopping....
