What about allowing search to look at all options at once, instead of having to search each section seperately.

I also agree but until this happens you can use Google site search.

For example to search for the term "Mount Columbia" on clubtread use the following Google search.

site:clubtread.com Mount Columbia

In addition to this I would like threads from all sections to show up on the front page. If they are important enough to host on the site then they are important enough for the front page. For example this thread doesn't show up on the front page when someone posts to it. I think it should.

The reason that was changed is because of the load that the full text search places on the database. I know its not ideal, but hoping that its not too inconvenient for folks...

Why not install Google Site search? I did it on my personal site http://eric-coulthard.com and it doesn't even have a database.

If I'm looking for a specific thread that I can recall from some time ago, but I can't remember what section it was in, I can forget about finding it; that's why I'd like to be able to search the whole site at once.

Good point. I had it on there at one point and Eric removed it (or didn't migrate with the new code). Can't remember why now... but its a good idea to put the Google one back I think...

Extra optional google site search would be good, I have to agree with server resources, with a ton of people searching it does use up a great deal of resources on a server (pending how good the server is). Use googles server resources .
