Default Strawberry Flats to SnowCamp & Lone Goat Mountains June 25/20

The third great and wonderful hike in Manning Park in recent weeks. It was a fantastic Day as Paul and I hiked on an excellent graded trail to top of two peaks; Snowcamp and Lone Goat. 8 am start and return to car about 4:45 pm; included 1- hours for two rest breaks at Skyline-Snowcamp trail junction and on Snowcamp Summit. Lunch at top of Lone Goat. 24 km return 1000 meters cumulative elevation gain. so hiking time not much more than 7-1/2 hours ...

Big surprise is the amount of snow ,even some on the trail on flat part of Strawberry Flats before elevation gain began, north aspects the meadow areas before you ascend to the higher west leg of the Skyline trail snow patches were frequent and covering meadows. One of area of ponds were covered 60% with snow, more snow in trees and on trail higher up just before you enter the west leg.

That west leg of Skyline trail facing towards Snowcamp iis mostly snowfree, but we hit again when dropped down towards Snowcamp, a few cornice remnants were a little challenging to get up and over. Further on hiked along a series of large bumps (snow cornices degraded) pic#8. From there onto Snowcamp and Lone Goat. We met two young ladies who camped overnight at Camp Mowich..and had a nice chat for a bit before carried on... Large areas snow covered on north aspects, and remaining snow cornices still profound of size.

A bluebird day it was.
