May 27, 2020:

Yesterday Parks Canada has announced visitor vehicle access to Banff National Park will officially resume on June 1st. This includes hiking parking lots, although they don't say if this applies to all trailheads. (Lake Louise area, Moraine Lake road in particular, is big question mark). Park Gate will be open for info, but they say pass sales will resume "when it is safe to do so". In other words it is still quite vague, but good news is that BNP is reopening! Camping is still closed till at least June 20 -- which is not a loss considering amount of snow.
