Federal Government today announced limited re-opening of National Parks and Historic Sites, starting June 1. Camping will not be allowed till at least June 21. Details are deliberately not posted yet, and it is very unclear what and where will re-open. I believe they will synchronize with provinces & there will not be one for all universal rule.



What does this mean for Rockies? I think Banff and Jasper will re-open for day-hiking on June 1. Why? Both are in Alberta, and as Alberta was first to fully reopen provincial parks for day use, it is likely it will give green light. Rest -- we shall see.
