It was good to get out for some fresh air yesterday. We hiked up to Mt. Strachan via the Christmas Gulley, and down the service road.
HSCT was a bit slippery after Bowen Lookout turnoff but it was OK without spikes.
Quite a few footprints heading up the gulley and we saw 2 other parties on the way, usually we don't see anyone.
10-20cm of snow on the ground.
A bit slick heading up the final stretch to Mt. Strachan.
Nice and calm at the top, no wind. The sun was a bit muted though, behind some high cloud.
Great visibility to distant peaks, but I forgot my binoculars.
Didn't see anyone attempt to try some rock skiing.
Nice views from the car viewpoint on the drive up (please ignore spot on photo haha)
Trail at Bowen Lookout turnoff
Leaves are falling
Nice views from the top:
Lots of snow machines were going lower down on Collins run, and lots of people out for a stroll.
