Hello Hikers, Scramblers and outdoor enthusiasts!
I am asking everyone who plans on recreating in the Saxifrage and Cassiope area north of Pemberton and Mount Currie to keep your eyes open for any clues or evidence that could be related to the September 2010, disappearance of Jonathan Jette and Rachael Bagnall who went missing while hiking/scrambling in this area. Jonathan's vehicle was located on the Spetch Creek Forest Service Road which is a logical place to park if accessing Saxifrage/Cassiope. The RCMP, Search and Rescue, the family, and members of the public have done extensive searching in the area without success. I would ask that anyone hiking or climbing in that area keep an eye out for anything that could be related to the couple (none of their gear was ever recovered). If you find anything, please contact the Pemberton RCMP at (604) 894-6634. You can always email me or my coworker at [email protected]
and [email protected]
. We would really like to bring some closure to the families so it would be much appreciated if you could keep your eyes open in that area. We are looking for their tent, sleeping bags, camping equipment and anything else they may have been carrying. I plan to do some more searching in the coming weeks using a drone and specialized RCMP Search Dog.
Thanks to all!!
