This might be a bit out there but with winter on its way and the turkey sale this weekend my minds begun to wander and fantasize about potential touring routes for this winter. I'm quite aware of the standard routes up cypress, Seymour and Paul Ridge / Elfin lakes but was wondering if anyone has tried to trek up Burke mountain with a touring set up. Since there used to be a ski resort on it years and years ago it got me thinking that there must be something worth while up there once the snow starts to fall.

Anyone been up there? Is it worth it?

Definitely possible if there's enough snow. We just toured up the road last winter.

Thats what got me thinking, Hiked up last may and hit a crazy amount of snow just above the powerlines. with this year looking to be another good one im looking for more local spots since I no longer live in whistler.

Eagle ridge (the next mtn to the west) has an old logging road system. if we get enough snow, its a nice place to snowshoe or cross country ski. You can find a decent map on google.

yes, burke can be toured, there is good access up to the cabins (shared with snow mobiles) some skiing (also shared with snow mobiles). Is it good? It is if you live in the tricities and the snow line is at 200m!
