Default Evans Creek Bridges Washing Out

The two bridges crossing Evans Creek on the West Canyon trail in Golden Ears Park are precariously hanging on after being seriously undermined during the last rainfall-snowmelt event. The island between the two structures is gone and just the gabion cages remain to hold the bridges. The smaller bridge is partly collapsed. To cross you must scramble down onto the creek bed, which won't be crossable after any amount of rain. The bridges may be unstable and hazardous to cross right now; and the next serious rain may finish them off. BC Parks and the bridge builder are notified.

Wow, hard to imagine. Must have been a massive flood gushing down Evans Creek.

That bridge looked pretty solid a few years ago when I last crossed over it.
