Default Widgeon slough water level?

I'm wondering if it is currently possible to canoe from Grant Narrows to the Widgeon Creek campsite without having to get out and push. The slough always has some pretty shallow parts; would this year's drought make it impassable? We'd be taking small children, so getting out and walking the canoes is not an option.

Also, can anyone confirm that the Katzie band canoe rental operation is indeed running daily at Grant Narrows? Some web crawling seems to suggest so, but there is no website.

There were three canoes when I was there today...water looks good for going right up to shore....I'll look up a pic I took of the shore area. I didn't canoe in so I don't know first hand.

I think the water level will be OK as long as you go during high tide. Earlier this year we paddled up the creek with lots of water and on the way back down had to walk for a quite long stretches.

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

3 of us rented from the Katzie last summer- they are there from 6:30am every day. They recommend getting there early. Very friendly and professional outfit- I would rent again. I think it was $65 for the day and $80 for overnight per canoe.

I found a phone # on a thread here somewhere- but I would just show up early.
