Default Deeks Lake - Parking

Is overnight parking allowed in the parking lot at the end of Porteau Cove road? Would like to camp for a couple of nights at Deeks Lake and not sure where to leave the car.

There's a parking lot at the entrance to a hike-in park that permits overnight stays and a route that typically takes 1-2 nights. People often park overnight there, I've done it myself repeatedly without incident. I've seen 10 vehicles with dew on them when arriving early for a long day-hike. Yet there is a prominent "No Overnight Parking" sign. I think that because the lot isn't on park land, there is that jurisdictional liability thing so to make everyone happy they post the sign but don't enforce it. Kind of silly, but it serves the vital role of bureaucracy.

Go for it, I say! I like Deeks.

if the gate is open you can drive up the logging road a ways. but sometimes it's open, sometimes it's locked.

the lot itself I can't remember what it says. the deeks lot is the exit before Porteau Cove on the right side. big paved lot.
