Default Tantalus Tyrolean Rumour

I was speaking to someone in Squamish today who said they'd heard a rumour that the Tyrolean traverse (cable car crossing) over the Squamish River that's used to access the Tantalus range is broken or in disrepair. In other words, unusable...

As of last year it was fine. The cable car itself was locked but the cable was intact and you could use it in a variety of ways to make your way across.

Can anyone speak to this rumour from recent personal experience? True or false?

As of mid-february, it was still fine. There's been a lot of work going on in there with machinery recently (logging?), maybe someone hit something by accident. If it's someone you know, it might be worth checking in with them as to when the alst time was they were up that way.

The person who mentioned it had never been up there, and was simply relaying something they'd hear. They couldn't remember who told them, of course...

I don't know anyone who's been across the cable recently.

We're planning a trip up that way this weekend so if anyone knows anything please post.

Just got back and the Tyrolean is fine - no change over previous years.
