Default current Chilcotin conditions?

Any reports about current Chilcotin conditions ie smoke and fires?

I am planning on doing a hike to Leckie Lake and Wolverine Pass next weekend.

Send me a message if you want to join the trip, just me at this point.

The mountains are my cathedral, let this day be my religion

Maybe not right at the shelter but a bit higher there is still lots of snow as of a week and a half ago.

Hi all, has anyone been up the Widgeon Lake Trail lately? BC Parks says it's closed due to a bridge failure, but I'm reading reports of several people having hiked it successfully in recent months despite the washout. Considering a trip weekend of September 17, but would like to know a bit more about the crossing before we go.

Default New Washout on BCMC

There is a new washout just at the start of the BCMC trail where you cross the usually dry creekbed, and the BCMC trail is closed. The last time this washed out was Nov 2018. Quite a bit of water must have come down here last night, it's pretty rare to see water running in this creek even during torrential downpours. It also affects the start of the Flint when you go right from before Harvey's Bridge. Also at the top a new bridge has been built. There is also some new tree chopping at about 630m elevation, to improve the forest I guess.

Christmas gully would be difficult proposition today. At least rock paint is now covered by snow 😂
