Default Mt. McGuire road -Tamihi FSR

I'm finding mixed reviews of the road leading to the McGuire NE Ridge route,.. in particular,.. about gates.

Does anyone have any recent intel on the gates on the Tamihi FSR?

This govt. link makes me think it is a no go: http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/dck/Enginee...Conditions.htm

But I've seen reports from this year!

These are the driving instructions I was planning to follow:
https://www.clubtread.com/Routes/Route.aspx?Route=1550 (which also says gates closed on weekends...)

Was up 2 weeks ago, you are good all the way to the end of the road. No locked gates!

I was up McGuire today, I didn't notice any gate, roads not too bad with a 4x4, a few paint scratches. There is really no water worth drinking along the route, my dog turned up his nose at the only puddle I found. Big fresh bear scat along the first ridge.

Thanks for the intel guys,.. though we got a flat tire it wasn't a result of road conditions,.. 2 water bars and a few rough spots but even a forester AWD probably could have made it.

Great trip btw!:
