Default Widgeon Slough cabin burned down

http://bc.ctvnews.ca/police-seek-hel...rson-1.1925080

It's burned RIGHT down, there's absolutely nothin left.

However those photos are pretty clear, and someone in the comments there says they went to school with these guys and identifies them.

Their names are Mikey McNeil, Chris Sine and Jamie Plante, they're all construction workers for Appian developments from Maple Ridge.

Here's Sines's facebook:

here's Plante's:

Maybe you should remove the face book links. These guys are going to get what they deserve.

It sure does show how great of an idea cameras are at trail heads. These idiots didn't even think to look for them.

That way the brown-shirts can be dispatched immediately?

How much are you willing to give up?

No, that is a bit over the top. Camera's in public are not really giving anything up, it would be different if it was in your house or something to that effect.

Also the camera's are not networked and were only checked once a criminal act had happened. So there would be no dispatching, it would be only retroactive surveillance upon a criminal investigation.

Brandon: I don't think it's a good idea to put facebook links up here. These folks are just suspects at the moment. Let the courts bring them to justice.

As for parking lot cameras, they could certainly have some benefit, it's not a straightforward as it might seem to some. Cameras require electricity, and most of these parking lots don't have electricity running to them.

The facebook profiles are public, and if the users don't want them to be, they can disable them. No one is doing anything wrong by posting the links.

Agreed that we shouldn't be so quick to post Facebook links until a full investigation has run its course. After the Boston marathon bombing, a couple of suspects were "identified" by the Internet, and they and their families were publicly harassed until the real bombers were identified.

Ironic that people who build housing would burn down someone else's.

Hopefully they are made to rebuild the cabin or compensate the owners/insurance company.

I believe the cabin was private property and the cameras were installed by the owners. That place is well posted as private and is constantly being vandalised. So, it's not the brown shirts. It's people protecting their property

Since they have turned themselves in it will be interesting to see if the punishment fits the crime.

+1 This is very sage recourse. Having these kids supply the materials and incur the expenses and rebuild the cabin with their own hands would give them the opportunity to learn a life changing lesson and benefit all parties involved. A further thought, placing a plaque posted on the cabin with the names of it's builders would be a reminder to them that they did something good out of a bad situation. Purely punitive actions will carry less benefits, IMO.
