Default Upper Lillooet Shut Down Past Hurley Junction

I was just told that MoF have shut down public travel past the Hurley junction on the Upper Lillooet FSR due to the present extreme hazard rating from Mt Meager area due to record-breaking temperatures I expect the shutdown will stay in place until sometime after friday when forecast more normal temperatures return.

I believe industrial use on the power plant and parts of the transmission line is also shutting down for the duration although they are governed by their own protocols.

Not sure about South Creek road but personally, I wouldn't go there until it cools down some either.
I wouldn't go to Pemberton Fest either, again personal opinion, but that's more because of the potential I see for chaos in the event an evacuation is ordered if a slide does occur.

This seems like South Creek is still open at the moment.

Dru, the road looks open per the link you posted. Any word of what might happen going into this weekend? I have a potential trip planned up that way.

Edit: It's a trip up to one of Vayu, Thiassi, or Athelstan.

Just got this from the Regional District

http://www.slrd.bc.ca/inside-slrd/no...further-notice

The closure is based on the provincial volcanic landslide shutdown criteria for the Lillooet River FSR. Not sure if that means there is threat of meltwater causing slides or there is seismic activity. Haven't had a chance to look and can't for a bit. Was going to head there very soon :-(

Would you happen to have a link to a page to confirm that? When I go to the regional district page it still says the road is closed and to contact the Ministry of Forests for further info

Thanks. Yeah, checked that and it seems ok. The SLRD page probably just hasn't been updated.
