Default Chief Paul Logging Road

Hi everyone, what's the condition of the Chief Paul logging road? I have a 4x4 tacoma, and would very much like to drive as high up on the road as possible.

Hey Trail_Blazer3,

You're likely not to get past the 3-4 km mark of the Chief Paul Creek FSR. My friend Fred and I drove that road in August 2013 when we made our attempt of Mount Pitt.

There are some massive washouts, like someone dropped a small bomb massive, haha. In my opinion, it didn't add too much time to just park and hike up the road. It'll save your car the extraneou abuse. Oh yeah, we used my vehicle for the trip, which is a 2003 Suzuki XL7. The approximate clearance on my vehicle is 20cm or 8".

Hope that helps,
Pardeep

I'm pretty sure I read that TR, I just didn't bother with the date... Lol.

Thanks for the heads up Pardeep!

cheers, Mauro

Dude. Don't leave me hangin'. What plans do you have that require driving up the Chief Paul Creek FSR?

hahaha, no worries. I'm planning a 5/6 day trip to Mt Pitt with a summit attempt. Given my luck this past year, I'm not so sure it's going to happen. If it goes well, you'll see a TR.... Lol

Good Luck Mauro. Then and now, my Mount Pitt attempt is the greatest, most edifying trip I've done. We didn't reach the true summit; made it to the South summit. Fred and I couldn't see a viable route through the notch, but Adam P. (Marduk of CT) and gang did find one two weeks later.

If you're ever wanting some information or photos don't hesitate to message me. I will go back for the true summit.

Hope it's going swimmingly,
Pardeep
