Default Slesse Memorial Trail

Some interesting information for those who don't read our local newspaper; http://www.theprogress.com/community/262730651.html

Here's my professional perspective on this: the logging roads that the trail follows were never properly deactivated and they have many sections with blocked drainage and tension cracking fill. There have been at least four landslides off of the overgrown roads and there are at least four more places, maybe as many as 10, where further slides are likely to occur as a result.

If people are going to throw money at these trails to fix them up then they should also approach MoF about doing a proper deactivation of this high-visibility, high-hazard non-status road, which is currently the MoF's responsibility.

I really hope so, and that it's not the rec department coughing up a few hundred bucks for another sign.

Exciting that this work will be done.

Another concern a bridge crossing should be high enough not to be taken out by flood debris and washed down blowdown.
