We came back to Vancouver from Sloquet hot springs last November via this FSR. You will need high-clearance 4X4 plus good tires to drive this route. The road has being called Sts'ailes FSR(Harrison west FSR) for quite a while, looking for the sign "Sts'ailes FSR". it's quite easy to follow. The North part is worse then south part.

not much to it, find main road, stay on main road,
often sections wash out in spring and can be rough or impassable. check for closures before heading out.

Backroads mapbook is not very detailed? I don't know what else is detailed then.

As AT said, just stay on main road. It's a simple road, hard to get lost. Nevertheless, having a GPS is a good idea, as people have been lost in "their own backyard" before.

You can also take a look at this map: http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=13....8643&layers=C

Older forestry maps are still kicking around.

Thanks, we do have a high clearance 4x4 & there will be 2 vehicles.

@Arnold, the backroads mapbook is deficient as it has a lot of unlabelled FSR junctions on it.

Aqua Terra 03-20-2014 08:36 PM

that's because many branches are not labelled or named.
