Default Wells peak Hope mountain loop info

I'm looking for some insight into taking the ridge from Hope Mountain to Wells Peak.
I can't find and recent trip report and was wondering if this was doable without a major bushwack.
They hint that it can be done in 103 hikes but that resource is becoming outdated.
I would appreciate any input.

As an addition we have found a topographic from Shadowchaser that shows the Wells peak loop that seems to connect with the Hope Mtn. trail. Is the loop a viable connection or is it easier to go up and down Wells Peak and then up to Hope Mtn.?

Two years ago it was well overgrown with alder at the junction. Doubt if it is any better now.

This photo is taken 3 weeks ago from the higher peak of wells, you can see hope mt in the distance and it looks like some bush. I think it would still be faster than going down and back up.

Thanks for the pics guys. I think we'll hike Wells first and then brave the alders. We'll make a final judgement call on the trail.

I have gone up and down wells then over to hope. it is easy and doesn't take long. hope is bushy and the bushes hold dew late into the day.
