Default Hanes Valley or Tricouni??

Thinking of a dayhike for this coming Sunday and was hoping for Tricouni meadows, lush with summer flowers, but I'm thinking it's all still covered in snow... anyone know? I'd also like to do Hanes Valley, but again, still too much snow?

Will there be any wildflowers this year or will the snow melt right into fall colours??

I believe Hanes Valley is still closed.

here is tricouni meadows from the peak 2 weeks ago. the lakes were still part frozen, also the road is pretty bad too.

if the hanes valley trail still has snow on the builder field I would avoid it. (probably does but not sure)

Pretty sure there was a North Shore Rescue call last week where a party tried Hanes (from Lynn Headwaters), didn't have the equpipment to climb the snowfield to Crown Pass, and when they tried to return they found the water level in Lynn Creek had risen too high for them to re-cross.

The last part of the road to Tricouni is worse than "pretty bad". Can't imagine the meadows are free of snow yet.

I know several people who have done the Hanes Valley route so far this year in running shoes (both directions), but I'm sure experiences can vary, and it was still "closed" last weekend.

There's no such thing as a closed trail!

Tricouni will have snow, and HV will have snow, as well. If you've got the right gear, HV would be a nice trip. Tricouni would also be a sweet day out. If you want meadows with minimal snow, Outram is probably a good long slog.
