Default Cathredral Lakes

I posted some info about Cathedral Lakes with a link to my story and I got some interesting info back that I wanted to share with the group. I can't swear by its accuracy, but the guy who posted the info seemed to know the park well.

There are no bears in Cathedral Park (or, at least, there aren't expected to be): they were all slaughtered back when the area was ranching country. I believe it's ranching country all 'round the Park, which keeps the bear population down.

There are several routes into the Park. They all have lot of steep
grunting.

Core area requires payment; outside the core, you camp free.

The rim is part of the core, and is really the best part of the park. It's fascinating.

I was talking to someone today who stayed in the core area campground. He said it was $15. Not a bad deal for the prime real estate.
