63. So I'm just past half-way. 66 if things go as planned on Sunday

But I had a head start, I had 16 when the book first came out.

But I am going back to Gandalf for the flake before I'll count it. My rules are that I have to at least touch the highest point with my hand.

Really?? I'd have given you 50 or 60. But I guess you do other stuff too besides scrambling

I'm somewhere in 20s. But I have 64 Kane scrambles (Rockies) as well.

I was going to post a new thread about this but this seems like a great place. Is anyone interested in knocking off a bunch of these scrambles this summer? I have the motivation and plenty of time, but no vehicle and only a friend or two willing to do these kinds of adventures, and as a result only have 8 checked off so far

Yup Just 31...some I've tried 2-3 times and had to bail on cause of weather or conditions (Tricouni, Slalok, Brandywine etc). It seems like it should be more. Garibaldi, Mount Baker, Mount Shuksan just aren't in the book cause they fall into mountaineering territory and then there are the "exploratory" trips too.

Hit me up up if you want to go, I have alot of random days off and only the far ones away left so I'de like split some gas costs with thirsty 4x4 Toyota I drive. It's kinda silly to go alone, unless you're a solo kinda hiker.

I don't really care about pace as long as you're pretty fit and can do the girnd under an hour it should be fine, as long as the goal is achieved.

A few of the entries in this tread made me want to post a topic on clubread asking for any suggestions people have for a second edition of the guidebook:

I'd love to hear any thoughts people have on SWBC scrambles they've enjoyed that aren't in the book.

Thanks a ton!

Matt

I've only got 8 of your scrambles done, but i often hike with my wife who is not a scrambler :-) .... that said, we are booked at the end of July for three nights at Cathedral Lakes lodge for our anniversary trip (after many years of marriage, we still hike together ).

To my great delight I found the section in your book on scrambles in that area. Not sure if I'll get to the Grimface, but I'll take my wife along to some of the easier ones and bag a few more of the peaks in your book.

Are you ever going to update your "hikes around Invermere" book? we travel to Panorama and Kimberely every year to hike that area. That book has been a great resource too.
