Default Buntzen Lake floating bridge status?

Hi y'all

Has anyone done the Buntzen Lake trail recently? I'm inquiring about the status of the floating bridge. Is it okay, underwater, still there, etc?

Thanks.

I was there on Sunday 08 March - the bridge is still out and much of the trail is under two feet of water.

As of April 10 (Thursday) there were still signs indicating it was closed. Not sure about it's "real" status though, I didn't take a look.

Hiked around Buntzen last Sunday (April 6, 2008) and the bridge was still not in operation. The water levels were extremely high with most of the beach areas under water. I imagine it's going to be at least a few more weeks until they reopen the south bridge.

There is an alternate route around which takes you along a trail out towards the park gate but it adds 3km to your hike.

I went to Diez Vista trail yesterday, April 12. There was a sign before the south bridge that said that bridge was out due to high water levels. As we deliberated what to do, a woman came from the bridge saying that the bridge was fine. If the amount of people on the west side of Buntzen lake was any indication, many were politely ignoring the aforementioned warning.

Was up in the Buntzen Lake area again today and there are still signs up everywhere that the Floating Bridge is not accessible. So, I did the 3km detour and when I got around to where the Diez Vistas trail starts, there were 3 different groups of people crossing the bridge!!! Looks like they're working on the area so I'm sure the signs will probably come down in the next few weeks.
