Default ClubTread members (and friends) Adventure Race??

Just thinking about putting together another race this year. Something small, but fun!
A one or two day race, depends on what the majority interest is.
I'd like to hear what you guys think, any ideas and such.......

Racers (who's in??
Teams (size)
Locations
Volunteers (logistics, first-aid, sponsors, etc)

I think its an awsome idea. Although I'm not sure what it was that you did last year. Could you fill me in a bit.

As I'm unfamiliar with the scope of things, the following idea may be irrelevent, but.....

Canoe 10-15 KM south to north on Liloette Lake, Mountain bike from Duffy lake Road corner of In'shuk logging road, to Jofree Lakes trail, KM unknown. And Hike up to Joffree Lakes.

Just thinking out loud,

Keep on Trekking

I think the idea of a race is great. I wasn't around last year, and am kinda new to the system, but I think it would be fun. Any options for us new-comers? That would be fantastic.

What type of skills were you thinking for the race Kerry? There are various ways you can do this. Obviously there is the flat out run through the mountains with your hiking poles kind of race. There's possibly strategy races. There's combining navigation skills perhaps? Maybe somehow it is partially an overnighter. What sort of criteria did you use in the past?

We always welcome anyone who's interested. Hopefully we'll have enough for a few teams. I hoping to get a race together for the end of July or August

Considerations for skills in the race would depend on what we all have available, (ie. mountan bikes, canoes , mountaineering equipment such as ice axes and helmets etc.)
Aside from the gear aspect, I would like to put together a race which was an overnighter, around 24 hrs, and involves skills such as a bike ride, (some single track and logging roads), some simple navigation , basic alpine (non tech mountaineering), trekking, maybe a river crossing or two and a tyrolian traverse, just to keep things fun!

Any takers??

Oh no! Now I have to buy a bike too... This year's been too expensive for gear! <img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>
