Default Just Got Back From Stein and.....

Hey everyone..... I just got back from the Stein and the weather was gorgeous. We barely saw any people and the mid valley was all ours. It was amazing. Looks like the bears are already down on the floodplain (scat everywhere) but it just added to the feeling. I'm not sure if people are aware of this yet but THE PONDEROSA CREEK BRIDGE IS WIPED OUT!!!!! The creeks raging high and the all but two submerged poles are sitting on the bank downstream. We didn't risk crossing it although Cottonwood was out destination. A 6 day trek turned into 3 days. AH WELL.

Ya, it was wiped out when Forest Walker and I got there mid-May. We laid a couple more logs on top of the one in this photo, just up stream from the trail. Obviously the creek has come up even more, if they're under water too.

Actually I'm surprised the ferry is still running, the way the river levels have been coming up

Glad to hear you enjoyed the part you could do
