Default Wild Flowers

I had a request last night about finding a meadow with wild flowers this time of year ???? I told her it is still waaaay too early. Places like Manning & Elfin are great but not untill late summer. Any one know when Brandywine Meadows is in bloom? Is there any other places lower down that may be accessable early in the season ?
" maybe I suggest she and her b.F. visit La Conner" but I don't think that is what they had in mind. I guess this is one of those things I took for granted but I never paid much attention as to dates and location of wild flowers.Any help would be great.

No trail is long with good company.

Trilliums are up in our local woods right now (or were a couple weeks ago when I last looked). These are huge white showy flowers that turn pink and purple as they age as are violets (much smaller in different colors) and of course dandelions! Alpine bloom won't happen for another few months as the snow has to melt first.

I haven't seen any wildflowers yet, however if the hardy yellow flower that decorates lawns this time of year qualifies, I have a neighbour with lots of lovely, bright dandelions

I was walking in the raveen near my place yesterday, and as well as the skunk cabbage, there is plenty of plenty of periwinkle and bleeding hearts. There is also a couple of other flowers whose name I don't know. So maybe for right now, she'll have to look for forest flowers.

Anyone else pack little identification books on wild flowers? My daughter really loves them!

See you on the mountain!

I've got crocusses and daf's (not exactly wild), bleeding hearts, little purplish blue things on the ground. Spring is springing, but the higher trails are still snowed in.

There's a book called Wild Harvest. It's not so much about flowers but eatable plants.

The road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began...
