We were there with 2 cars - one 2004 Forester, one 2014 BMW 3rd series. BMW made it about 1/3 of the way and then parked. Forester shuttled people to the very end. If you go in Civic I would say you will have to walk about 6-8k one way to the trail head. Pickup will make no problem - there aren't any serious offroading conditions, but few sections require clearance.
