Currently, no helicopters are available, because they are fighting forest fires. As soon as a chopper is available to Parks, the outhouse will fly.

This weekend, there will be a ranger and volunteer team working, for up to 3 days, between the upper helicopter pad and the emergency shelter. These rangers are very keen to get things done, and have been boots on the ground since they started. We might be lipsticking a pig, but we are not giving up just yet.

Just so everyone knows. The currently deteriorated state of the G.E. trail above Alder flats is not a new development. That old road bed washed out to become a bouldery stream bed maybe 20 years ago and has been fairly stable since then. Beyond the road bed, the trail has been deteriorating slowly - with exposed roots and trail overshoots being the the norm for several years.
