Prickly pear cactus
These grow all over southern BC as well throughout the Caribou and many other areas including the Praries.
They're fun to pull out of your dog's muzzle and if you brush by them when walking they magically jump up and attach themselves to the back of your leg.
Very tenacious and hardy plant.
