Mt. Baker - Artist Point & Bagli Lakes Mar.17/19
A beautiful sunny day which proved to be quite warm up on the slopes, after a cool start near zero temperatures early afternoon recorded at +12'C.
This was the first Baker trip since last October, and had 3 great friends to join me on this trip. Morning snow was hard & crisp, but softened partly in the early afternoon.
10 minutes after starting, good view of Table Mtn & Interpretation Center (house)
Up on ridge, site of the buried parking lot

Two friends, with views of Hann and Ann Peak to the southeast
Full view of Mt. Baker and lower slopes

Bridge over Bagli Lake creek (8 feet of snow on top)
Heading downstream, north along Bagli Creek
Driving home, near switchback & building
Mt. Shukshan SKII Lodge, and the mountain...
This was a relatively short trip; 8 km return with 350 net meters elevation gain. Start near 9:45 am and returned to car near 1:45 pm.. time included lunch break and a few other lazy strolling stops. A beautiful spring like day and we enjoyed lingering. Even put on sunscreen with bright sun and white snow offering sunburn risks.
