Default MT. Baker - Artist Point to Skii Hill SS Apr.21/17

Paul and I connected out for a sunny blue sky day on Mt Baker. Promised to be the only fine day of the coming week.

We snowshoed up to near Table Mountain, and then up to Artist Point, back down, and through the parking lot for Lake Ann trail... and up the ski Hill (Austin Pass), to top by the building.

Then back down; 8.5 km return in 5 hours including lunch. It was a day which required heavy sun screen, risk of getting high sun burn.

To start the day on our drive, impressive snow walls still line the highway up near the top..

Hi Rex...

We must have been very close in timing.....I think we just ahead of you has Paul snowshoed over the skii tracks, which I followed as well. And I see very similar pictures in your TR. Quite possible, we could have pictures of each other if we could check and figure that out ?

Very envious, such a beautiful day you had. We spent that day building a retaining wall oh well, much better to do it in the sun.

Can you actually drive up to the meadows parking lot?

We started on the trail about 8;50 am... and within 1 hour up on the top of the ridge; then snowshoed offer to get closer look at Table Mountain, and then across over to Artist Point. about 10:40 am for a bite and a drink.

Thank you very much for compliments, Tim. The blue skies and sun sure provided the perfect set of conditions for photography.

Plan to head out there tomorrow, but rain is in the forecast so not an ideal day coming up.
