Tomyhoi Peak

It's really hard to make a decision at weekend when both Mt.Ossa and Tomyhoi Peak appeared on the schedules. Especially they are on my list for quite long time. Finally i decided to go with BCMC for bagging Tomyhoi.

1. Ascenting
We started around 9:00am in the morning, about 1.5 we reached tarns. Around 12:00pm we reach the col. The route from the false summit to true summit looks tricky. There is no direct route connect two summits, so we have to drop a little bit to the right and cross a small part of snowfield, then climb up to the summit ridge. Another 1.5hours 10 of us made it to the summit.

2. summit
Dropped down from summit ridge to the summit base then scrambles started. There are some exposed sections but due to good holds they are not the problems.

Nice one! Looks like a great trip.... Dam I've wanted to do this peak for ages... sorry I missed the trip. The scrambling looks pretty steep. Good job BCMC.

That looks like a lot of fun! Good handholds you say? I notice some climbers are wearing helmets and others aren't. Are they necessary on this hike? Great job everyone!

Just reading about that last night and thinking it would be a lovely trip. Thanks for the great report to add to the motivation.

yes, the handholds are very stable. Personally i don't think you need a helmet that's why i didn't wear mine. But if you are going with a big group, better to have one.
