I first heard about the twin sister's from a friend Chris about or years ago.Soon time went by and the trip became a distant memory.On a ski trip in june this year to helitrope ridge of mount baker,I stoped for a break and met some locals from bellingham.At this moment I looked in the distance and a few peaks caught my eye.I asked the locals what peaks were in that direction."They responded,the Twin Sister's.Once again back into my memory.Then at a late july mountain bike race,I bumped into Chris again.Ironically we had been hammering each other in the race for a few hours already.Chris asks me "Did you climb the Twin Sister's yet"No I respond.I say to myself what is the big deal about the twin sister's.Later I ran into my brother Andy.He tells me he ran into Chris.Let me guess he told you about the twin sister's.

So here I am mid september with fantastic weather forecasted.The north twin sister is a 3/4 class scramble.The approach to the west ridge of the North Twin is about 12km of logging roads one way.[bikes recommended]After 5500 feet of climbing,3.5 hors later my brother Andy and I reached the summit.The views on top were spectacular,Mount Baker on my left,Mount Rainier on my right,and the ridge line and arete of the South Twin Sister also on my right side.Originally we planned to climb both twins.The 11:30 am start left us short on time!For the way back we just reversed the climb.Then it was on our mountain bikes for a blast down 12km of logging roads!

Yes the rock was amazing! Very gripy!

We climbed the west ridge of the north twin quite a few years ago to discover masses of lady bugs on the summit. The were massed in bunches about 15 cm across and so deep you couldn't see the rock beneath them. Very strange.

I remember the rock like coarse sandpaper! The descent off the north face makes for a pleasant exit. One of the more pleasant class 3 day climbs.

Yeah, there was no border crossing that could hold us that weekend though. We represented! Oh wait... we didn't summit. We need to hit that sister up again and hope for more success on round two!

Thanks Karvitk! We were fortunate to have great september weather,as we all know that rain is just around the corner.That boarder story is to funny I always have my game face on for the custom people.
