Love this old fort picture, showing the trees above adding to organic nature and age of this spot.

So, Cali and I went back to Ft Ebey last weekend and stayed 2 nights. Saturday was a gorgeous day spent on the beach..

Saw a couple of curious things though....

Are these cacti on vacation from the southern border?? I had no idea that they lived here??

And what in blazes are these? Abalone?? They have beautiful color inside and some were really huge.....I suppose I could research, but...I'll wait to see if anyone here will answer..

Toodles!

I think they're chitons? (sp)

Everything's on the tip of my toungue this morning: there's another place in Washington state that I think you guys would reeeally like, you may have already been , it's further south but there's a reeeeally cool shipwreck there: I think it's at Cape Disappointment or Fort Stevens, been awhile: 16-17 years since I was there.

Thanks Margaret! I did a Google on Chiton and it looks like you're right! The insides of the shells were a beautiful turqouise color.

I haven't been to Ft Stevens..but have looked into it...it's on the never-ending list!
