Default Zionesque

Hello there! What a treat for this ol' desert rat, to have some company from
bee-youtiful BC. Larryl and Lofty, (larry and Anja) are down here to do some canyoneering, climbing, hiking, kayaking, and socializing with some fellow doers in Zion National Park, in sunny Southern Utah. It was untypically hazy on Friday when we went to Zion in the late morning to secure a campsite for Lofty. They arrived on Thurs evening
and spent the night here at my place in St. George, Home on the ridge. We got to hike a wee bit or more of a leg stretcher at two little locations on Zion's upper east end.
Many pools and hidden canyon. Lofty is in Zion right now, climbing. Larryl rented a jeep and is currently in Grand Staircase/Escalante. I am working the weekend. I will be off again after 7 pm on Monday. Then, we will all get together for the evening, sip some wine around the fire, stock up some supplies and head into Ashdown Gorge on Tuesday.
From there, not too sure what the plans are for the next days to follow.

I am really excited to spend some time hiking around in the next two weeks. A chance to share some fun places with Larryl and Lofty.
It will have to be some cooler, diffused lighted hikes. direct Sunlight is not the friend for forest dwellers, hehe. Down here, you are in the sun 100 percent of the time. It is always on you; either your face or your back. No shade. They were hot in Zion. It was just 109 3 weeks ago. It is now in the low nineties. So, I will take them up to the mountains. Leaves are just beginning to change up there.
I hope we can spend some more time together. I am glad for any time I can have with these two fun, CTers. They're nice people and laugh at my stupid antics. What more could I want?

MORE TO COME!! Next- Ashdown Gorge, Cedar City. I hope they like it.
Cheers! jerry

May your trails be crooked, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing views ! Edward Abbey

Good stuff. I'm on the last leg of a 3 week trip through Utah myself, leaving Zion this morning to head to Yosemite for a couple of days. The whole state from Moab to St George is gorgeous.
