Default Hot desert walk

Well, the airline or the booking agent screwed up and we missed our flight to go to Niagra Falls for a beautiful wedding. [V] Really bummed out...
So, I got up this morning and decided to go for a four mile jaunt through the desert in Arizona to try and clear the cobwebs.
Nice views, lots of humidity out here with temp at 97 degrees.
so, it really was quite warm. The best thing happening so far this weekend.

Wow! pincushion blooming? Desert star? Barrel Cactus blooming?
All this to cheer me up. Whoooda thunk that anything would bloom when it's so hot in July.

Now, I feel better! I was worried about leaving my family alone today. They were cool with me hiking all day long. But, I started getting lonely and hot. so, I went into the hills for two miles and turned around. I will be back out here again in cooler weather.
Til then, hope you like the pictures. Cheers! jerry

May your trails be crooked, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing views ! Edward Abbey

Too bad about missing your flight but it's wonderful to see that nature still sings to you Jerry[^]. I really enjoyed your pictures and your report.
Happy trails,

Thanks, Asghar! I hit my camera on a rock when I wasn't paying attention and went for a tumble in the rocks and almost didn't get any pictures. I pulled some cactus needles out of my leg.[B)]

Hey, Trillium! Glad you liked the pictures!
I feel much much better, thanks! I can't wait to go back there and climb on top of the mountain. I really wanted to go over to the Canadian side of Niagra Falls, as well. (the prettier side, I'm told)

Nice, quiet day, for sure, Lynn! Great to be out.

Too bad you missed your flight, Jerry!
Hmmm, maybe this is just a sign that if you do actually make it to Canada soon- it should be here in beautiful BC!

We're all waiting...

Aw, I know you were looking forward to that trip, Jerry. A shame it didn't work out...

Still, nice way to work off the disappointment! Thanks for the photos!

Awesome pics RentedMule, them blooming cactus look awesome, and unique. Great background scenery too!
