Default Anyone familiar with Geogratis?

I recently read an article by Andrew Skurka "A Guide to Canadian Topographical Maps" and he mentions Geogratis as being a great free source to topo maps, better than Toporama (only one I knew of). I can't figure out how to use it properly. A simple search for Apsley, Ontario (maps checked) returns in 1024 completely irrelevant results, and a small map with tags all across Canada. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here but I'm hoping someone can guide me in the right direction.

I use Gmap4 out west and also and Caltopo.... here's:

1) a screen grab of Apsley, ON in a Caltopo query. Caltopo links to many topo map sets, including NR Canada, Open Ccyel/hike and USGS 7.5" (which covers lots of Canada). Caltopo will let you .
2) Also, here's a screen grab of a NR Canada topo map near Kimberely BC with a GPX track imported of a local trail

GeoGratis is a series of websites for free maps and data from the federal government. Toporama is one of them.
You need to know which of the sites you need to use.
Even the list of most popular products contains a vast amount of information.
Begin with the very helpful Getting Started Video

I am trying to get DEM of Winnipeg (MB) since last week however, seem there is something wrong with geogratis. I was able to download DEM of other site earlier however, the site appears to be down. Have you tried using geogratis, recently?

If you're looking for just plain topo maps, I go here:
http://ftp2.cits.rncan.gc.ca/pub/canmatrix/

Index maps to find what map sheet you need here:
http://ftp2.cits.rncan.gc.ca/pub/geo...llion_Echelle/

Not georeferenced I guess is the downside.
