Cloverpoint produces nice trim maps. They sell at
http://www.canadamapstore.com/

You'd need a slick plotter and basemap skills to produce them your self. They're not cheap though.

Can you provide more details:
- is it specifically TRIM maps you are looking for
- is it that you want maps of BC where the data is based on 1:20,000 or 1:10,000 scale data
- whether you looking for paper maps, or digital data

Hi Verticalfoot,
For free online BC maps, go to: http://maps.gov.bc.ca
Then click on "Provincial Basemap"
Then click "Find Location" at the top
Then click on "Place Name" at the right
Type in your desired location, zoom in, etc.
Then click on "Layers" at the top.
Then click on "Base Map Layers" on the right.
Then click the "elevation" button, then refresh.

If your friend is comfortable using OGC standards to access geospatial data, and using that to 'make maps', then you can start here for the BC data:
http://openmaps.gov.bc.ca/
URLs for WMS getcapabilities requests are listed on the right hand side of the page.

I've never had much luck with those webservices. I had trouble querying the list of available layers - maybe I was doing something wrong?

We helped Clover Point develop their digital trim maps and they can also be purchased on our website www.mapsdigital.com. The B.C. Government have made their trim data available in a raster format but the finished product is flawed. There is a sample trim map down load on our site. The digital trim maps are in geotiff format and they can be used with most gps mapping software and GIS software. This is the best data for B.C.
