What kind of file is it that the other person is sending? .GPX? .GDB? (.MPS?) Any reason why you are opening it in EasyGPS instead of Mapsource? A bit more info here might be helpful. You should be able to open any of these types of files Mapsource without too much difficulty.

If you want to send me the file I could try and open it.

I'm wondering why you haven't tried the newer BaseCamp software that Garmin has moved to. (I recall I liked MapSource better at the time, but I've forgotten it now and am used to the new product).

I echo Martin's question. What file type are you having trouble with?

file type = GPX files / GPS exchange files

I have just installed and tried the BaseCamp software and same problem. My GPS is only basic so I can not load maps onto it so I have not purchased any maps from Garmin for my program. Therefore I was just using a basic program as I do not need anything fancy. I use it to just pre-load certain way points that I may need.

I have attached a couple of pictures and you can see how one track has the way points marked on it however the other does not. These are both with the BaseCamp software. The one without way points is from the person in the attached link and it is located down at the bottom of the page. I get the same thing when I download files off of Bivouac.com. I get the track but no waypoints

Okay, I think I see it.

Pic 1 - no waypoints, because there are no waypoints in the selected file (Anwen Roberts STSSCT...great choice btw).
Pic 2 - your East of Squamish file contains waypoints, so they get displayed

These "files" are subsets of your Collection. If you select My Collection, you will see everything that's contained in your library of data. So, when you're downloading someone else's GPS track, they may or may not be including waypoints in the file.

(I downloaded the same file a while back - I don't think it had waypoints included)
