Default Gpedometer

Gpedometer is a ‘hack' for Google's mapping application that was developed by a runner to figure out distances [u]and elevations </u>for his running routes. I spent a few minutes playing with it and it useful little application for urban routes, I'm not sure how well it would work for more rural applications (haven't tried that yet). You are limited by the limitations of Googles maps however… for example the map for my home town doesn't show parkland, only streets.

I Figured there might be some urban runners / walkers / cyclists who could benefit from this for recording their commutes and training etc. You can save your routes which is nice if have several 'standard routes' you do.

BTW this doesn't require any downloads, instructions are included on the left hand column.
